New York Real Estate Journal has recognized Angela Grippo from Emtec Consulting Engineers as a 2024 Woman in Construction.

Angela plays an integral role in the electrical design process here at Emtec. She is thorough and dedicated to her career, specializing in power distribution design and fire alarm systems. What recent project, accomplishment or award are you most proud of?

A recent project I am most proud of is in Islandia, NY, owned by Onyx Equities. The project consists of 8 new warehouse buildings that amount to 1 million square feet of warehouse space. I designed the incoming electrical service to each building, and it is by far the largest project I’ve gotten to work on as well.

What do you like best about being a woman in the AEC industry?

As a woman, I like standing out in the male dominated AEC industry. Your confidence is challenged daily to only make you a stronger force in this industry. I’m grateful for the opportunity to grow more confident each day.  

What is your favorite building in New York?

The Bloomberg Tower at 731 Lexington Ave, New York, NY is my favorite New York building. Their complete innovative designs promote employee wellness throughout the workplace. They have a stairwell system, complete with spiral escalator, that encourages employees to be more physically active too.
