Building Commissioning

Emtec offers full building commissioning for all of the systems included in the overall scope of any given project, which include but not limited to mechanical, plumbing, electrical, building security, sustainable systems, lighting, controls, building envelopes, fire, life safety, and IT/Telecommunications to achieve the goals of a building owner as designed by the A/E firm. In an effort to satisfy the owner’s project requirements our team generates pre-functional and functional checklists, training programs, and witness’s functional equipment tests and performs the testing of the systems as the project programs nears completion.

Building Management Systems / Building Automation Systems

A (BMS ) or (BAS) system is an integral part of any project, as these components include the control of the heating, ventilation, refrigeration, AC, fire suppression, alarm, security systems, electrical power, and lighting systems. As the commissioning agent, we work closely with the controls contractor to take action on corrective issues during the review and performance testing process.


Together we will ensure that the occupants are prepared to assume control of a building, our staff is comprised of former facility managers and operations personnel who are familiar with the functional capabilities of the control systems and the needs of an end user.

LEED/Sustainable Commissioning

With growing goals for LEED projects, and guidelines by USGBC we have worked to assist projects in the development of a certified green building through effective design & commissioning.

Retro Commissioning / Re-Commissioning

Our team will assist in identifying the inefficiencies within your building systems, and generate a plan of action for optimizing the efficiency and functionality of your building.
