Emtec was contracted to evaluate and design upgrades and modifications for the mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and fire protection systems within the Main Terminal Building for Long Island MacArthur Airport. The project required meeting with Long Island MacArthur Airport (ISP) design committee to determine design initiatives and planning to implement the changes to update and modernize the systems. Emtec conducted an initial inspection of the existing systems within the space to gather a greater understanding of the needs required. We examined any existing drawings and documentation. We also evaluate various methods of providing cooling, heating and dehumidification throughout the buildings. Our team, along with Bld Architecture, TSPE, and TDM are currently in the process of performing the design work associated with the project, along with considerations for the Airport’s future expansion needs.
