Emtec Consulting Engineers was the MEP/FP for the The Wel in Lindenhurst. This project consisted of professional design services for a new multi-story building that included 260 residential apartment units housed in a 4-story building over a partial “sub-grade” parking garage for 52 cars. There are 62 units on the main level, 74 units each of the 2nd and 3rd floors and 50 units on the 4th floor.

Emtec provided completely new HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire alarm systems all in accordance with NYS Building codes. HVAC system was designed to comply with 2015 IECC and included gas-fired rooftop units serving the corridors, VRF systems serving amenity spaces, and individual ducted split DX systems with hydronic heating coils for each apartment. Plumbing systems included a triplex domestic water booster pump, individual gas-fired water heaters with combination space heating/potable water heating and pex manifolds for each apartment, and separate point-of-use water heaters for amenity spaces. Fire Protection system included a fully sprinklered building with Class I standpipes and a fire pump, compliant with NFPA-13, NFPA-14 & NFPA-20.
